I took some time to learn how to do 3D text coloring/lighting and tracking in After Effects! This was the result: (Weird Al, "My work here is done") http://i.imgur.com/9DlLJOI.mp4 It's possible to do depth mapping such that the text resizes correctly with the camera panning in, but I was having trouble with the render skipping frames (too much GPU stress?) so I didn't get to implement that. I think that was just poor workflow on my part... I added processor intensive stuff too early and should have done the resizing and tracking first.

tumbleweed the wanderer	Wed Nov 18 12:32:34 'Medieval Dynasty' is a village builder/survival game... start from scratch build up homes & work buildings, you unlock more options as you go, plus farming & livestock... you recruit villagers to do much of the work for you (w/ quests usually just fetch style... the only intended (ie. non-cow) combat is with normal (non-fantasy) wildlife/hunting) the children grow up slowly so not much point to them :p... i finished almost all content before any kids were old enough to do anything... just dead weight (like real life) --- if anyone likes survival/building games but want more combat-oriented: - 'Night of the Dead' is another good 'early access' one (zombie world) ... a 1st person survival, where you scavenge resources & build your own base (no villagers to boss around though) + each night a wave of zombies comes for you, you can build numerous traps to help deal w/ them so kinda like tower defense too (there's also zombies around during day, just not actively seeking you until spotting you anyway) tip: probably should build your nightly kill trap area separate from your crafting/living base... zombies seem to come for you specifically so they never just wreck the base if you don't protect it (though that may change, or may have already changed)... there's a reason to keep the areas separate that you'll figure out after several nights :p (although ways to deal w/ it if you don't want to keep separate) i encourage waiting for sales on all games :p

Sometimes it's nice to just run around a nicely rendered world with Doom Guy objectives :D Master of Pottery seems like it should give you the suicide hotline number after every game ;D Actually, though.. I kind of wonder if it lets you export to Blender. It seems like it could be a neat item-creation plugin.. ..Might finally get Day Z (-40%, so $26.99) "Inside" is -66% (now $6.79). Looks very cool :) "Among Us" is now affordable. It was $4.99 but is now $3.99. You can live the memes. But be a narc about.. like.. instead of saying, "Red is sus," say, "The person in the red spacesuit was exhibiting suspicious behaviors."
Cherub Cow Member	Sun Nov 29 00:10:33 DayZ is super annoying :D You spent 30 minutes walking from a completely looted town to another town, then find out that that town was looted, then die of starvation. Sometimes you get lucky and find a few things, but it's always a bad combination.. like, you'll find a canned good but have no way of opening it, a rifle but no correct ammo, matches but no wood-cutting ability, meat but no way to cook it, etc. On one occasion, I finally found a fishing rod, then a hook, but I couldn't find anything with which to dig for worms, so I died of starvation. Then I got lucky and re-spawned near my dead body, but when I got back to the body, the game for some reason wasn't letting me transfer the fishing rod into my inventory.. so I died of starvation running away from someone. I still have not gotten a complete fishing setup. I'll either get a rod and bait, a digging tool and a hook, or some other useless combination. My favorite moment was one game I spawned near a pumpkin patch, so I put two pumpkins in my pack, but the town had been looted so there was nothing with which to slice the pumpkins. I headed inland, getting ready to die of starvation, when I found a stone, then another. I combined the stones into a knife, then sliced the pumpkins, put the pumpkin slices into my hands, and died of starvation. lol.. Serious mistakes were made in the design of this game, yet I still want to keep trying ;p
hood Member	Sun Nov 29 13:52:55 I got Deep Rock Galactic, played a bit with my sister. It's pretty fun. Load up a rando-generated map, complete objectives, mine minerals, fight off spider monsters. Rinse and repeat. It's still pretty expensive though, as it's recently released. If you haven't played Aragami, it's a pretty neat stealth game. $4 for 13 levels and some cool shadow powers. If you like stealth at all, definitely worth a playthrough at that price. It's even got coop if you actually have friends! Also played through Remnant: From the Ashes. It's currently half off, $20. It was certainly fun, if a little simple, for a looter shooter. Minimal weapons though - it's almost got an MMO design to it.
