Via new trailer?
Batman v Superman trailer 2 (released Dec 2nd):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fis-9Zqu2Ro
..I am starting to worry that they've added too many characters to directly compete with Marvel.. but overall am still optimistic..

Stop posting that, McKobb! ;D

"I'm really excited for Deadpool." .. +1 Deer!! Lots of Deadpool fans need to leave their basements, but ignoring their hype it'll just be nice to see Ryan Reynolds unleashed like his Van Wilder times :D

I liked the zombieland guy as lex luther. Seems interesting.

"it'll just be nice to see Ryan Reynolds unleashed like his Van Wilder times"

He may not be the best of actors, be he definitely does a few things well. And Deadpool... I think he should make an excellent Deadpool.

For those who stayed to the end of deadpool:

I'd really like to see a keira knightley Cable, where only deadpool realizes the 60+ year old, 6'5" man is being played by a woman. It doesn't necessarily have to be her, but the concept in general would just be excellent.

"Hey, so uh, Cable, aren't you a man in the comics?"
"What are you talking about deadpool?"
"No like, I get it. Haha. Big, tough Cable being played by a woman. I even suggested it. But I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be a guy."
"Knock that shit off, deadpool. I didn't travel 3000 years into the past to have my gender questioned by an insane flunky."
"Ok ok, I'm sor... DID YOU JUST SAY FLUNKY!?"

!!! Obama better deliver !!!

"Obama Receives Classified Briefing On Likelihood Of ‘Krull’ Reboot"
[Onion article]
http://www...briefing-likelihood-krul-52581
• "The private meetings ... have been held at the start of each day since Obama assumed office in 2009"
• "I believe we need to be prepared for any possible outcome, including everything from a shot-for-shot remake of the original story of a hero defending his planet from a humanoid invader known as the Beast, to the far more drastic possibility of a full-on reimagining of the Krull cinematic universe."
• "'After an hour or so of heated discussion, I remember the president became deadly sober and went around the room one by one asking each of us our best-guess percentage on the prospect of Liam Neeson coming back as Kegan,' he added. 'That’s as focused and intense as I’ve ever seen him."
• "I think he sees ensuring that the next generation of moviegoers gets to watch Ergo the Magnificent and his band of thieves triumphantly ride their Fire Mares into battle against the Slayers as potentially the defining accomplishment of his presidency."

No trailer yet, but the new Underworld movie is set for a release of October 21, 2016.
It will be a sequel instead of a reboot, so that's nice, but it will not be getting Len Wiseman back (he directed the first two). Instead it'll be directed by Anna Foerster, who has only directed TV-show episodes to this point... so that's not good. To be seen!

X-Men Apocalypse tomorrow!
I've heard that Olivia Munn's part as Psylocke was minimized, so that's a good sign (she is a hack whose career was built upon the libidos of little gamer boys). It can't be worse than Civil War, anyways :p

Cherub Cow

Thu May 26 23:39:12
Oh yeah, I'm not against models becoming actors (it happens for both sexes anyways), but usually there's a sieve for models who can't act. She managed to bypass it because little boys had access to G4 TV and "Attack of the Show!", where Olivia Munn managed to make a name for herself by being as vacuous as possible and playing into mundane gamer fantasies. So far she's gotten away with her bad acting, but in movies like "Deliver us from Evil" she was asked to actually act rather than lean on her fan appeal, and it ended up illustrating just how bad she is... too bad that movie was altogether bad and no one noticed.

I insist that they resurrect Heath Ledger -- the only Joker worth seeing evar and forevar! ;)
... I don't actually mind this Jared Leto Joker from anything they've shown so far. Seems like they decided to go a different direction from Nicholson and Ledger and that could be fun (Ledger gets way too much credit anyways). Probably seeing this today (Thursday).. No expectations one way or the other, but it at least seems dark!

"Don't Breathe" was released today..
Trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76yBTNDB6vU
..it looks like it was sampling from Blair Witch Project's intentionally unflattering close-up cinematography, but it has an okay concept for a horror movie and has Stephen Lang as the villain (he was in "Men Who Stare at Goats" and "Avatar").. so I'll probably try to see it tonight..

Time to look to 2017!

January 6th
Underworld: Blood Wars (Kate Beckinsale returns and Game of Thrones actors were cast, but it was made with somewhat untested TV director Anna Foerster.. so despite the trailer no telling if it will be terrible or not)

January 13th
The Bye Bye Man (looks like it could be a good horror)
Patriots Day (Marky Mark takes on the Boston bombing?)

January 20th
xXx 3 [triple-X 3]: The Return of Xander Cage

January 27th
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (will it end in "Lost" TV Series fashion? The Lost series starts with Jack opening his eyes and ends with him closing his eyes. Paul W. S. Anderson likes making lots of references, so it makes sense for him to end the RE franchise with Milla Jovovich closing her eyes since the franchise started with her opening them)

February 10th
John Wick 2 (yay! I guess they've changed his motivation from "they killed my dog!" to "they blew up my house!", so the writing has clearly become amazing ;D .. it's a shoot'em up so who cares? :D )

February 17th
A Cure for Wellness (looks kewl!)

March 3rd
Logan (Huge Actor-Man returns in his role as the mutant honey badger!)

March 10th
The Wall ("Bourne Identity" and "Edge of Tomorrow" director Doug Liman war thriller)

March 24th
Life (alien/space thriller)

March 31st
Ghost in the Shell

April 14th
The Fate of the Furious

May 5th
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 [the search for more money]

May 19th
Alien: Covenant
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0VW6sg50Pk
(Apparently this *is* the sequel to Prometheus, but it looks like the major focus will not be those seed aliens?)

May 26th
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

June 2nd
Wonder Woman

June 9th
The Mummy (Tom Cruise thriller)
World War Z 2

More additions to the upcoming list!

March 17th
The Belko Experiment
trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZNfwayNLL0
(Horror movie with a good cast! Bunch of peeps locked in a building; have to kill each other and follow various directives to "survive")

May 12th
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (at the very least it looks like great wardrobe, sets, and locations)

July 21st
Dunkirk (Forgot to put this before! Nolan's attempt at a historical/war drama)
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (Luc Besson sci-fi; supposedly more closely based on « Valérian et Laureline » than was Besson's "The 5th Element")

July 28th
The Dark Tower (Stephen King's)

September 8th
It (also Stephen King's — this remake makes me wonder if both Tim Curry and Stephen King will both die in 2017 ;p )

[more stuff ahead of September, but that's enough for meow]

Very stylistic, like its direction samples from Nicolas Refn and George Miller. Not sure how misled/activist the writing will be, though! Will have to watch this director's "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night" to get an indication.

Forgot to post this:
Very sad news for the Snyder family :(

"Zack Snyder Steps Down From 'Justice League' to Deal With Family Tragedy"
http://www...ue-deal-family-tragedy-1006455
"The filmmaker's daughter died by suicide in March, prompting him to take a break from work and hire Joss Whedon to finish"
... "Snyder’s daughter Autumn Snyder died by suicide in March at age 20 ... “In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was the way through it,” said an emotional Snyder in an interview Monday ... with Deborah sitting by his side. “The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all-consuming. And in the last two months, I’ve come to the realization … I’ve decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me. They are all having a hard time. I’m having a hard time.”"

This was pretty neat (♥ Palahniuk):
"Autumn [daughter] had a quote that she included in everything she wrote. (“Every. Single. Thing,” chuckles Zack.) It’s from author Chuck Palahniuk: “We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.”"

And while it might be natural to worry about Joss Whedon screwing up the movie with his post-Buffy love of bad writing/direction:
"“The directing is minimal and it has to adhere to the style and tone and the template that Zack set,” says Emmerich. “We’re not introducing any new characters. It’s the same characters in some new scenes. He’s handing the baton to Joss, but the course has really been set by Zack. I still believe that despite this tragedy, we’ll still end up with a great movie.”"

Funny update:
"World War Z 2" was listed as coming out this weekend, but apparently Paramount ran into issues, one of which being a director who dropped out (not sure how true that is) and another being that they may not have even started filming until April-ish if they've even started filming at all (also not confirmed). No updated release date has been set, which means that it may not be out until 2018 (optimistically by March, but realistically by May). But! David Fincher is currently signed on as the director now, so when it's released it could be really good!

"The Predator" (2018) trailer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaG1KZqrLvM

Ugh... I was hoping for good things because writer/director Shane Black played "Hawkins" in the 1987 Schwarzenegger "Predator" which might have meant he had a sense of the source, but this trailer does not look good. Between Olivia Munn's mannequin acting, the glossy/dumb CGI, Keegan-Michael Key's bad comic relief, and a silly premise of a super predator ("A bigger predator is better predator, right?????"), it looks like Shane Black has been drinking the same bad Kool-Aid that's been passed around at Hollywood parties for years now. Just another dead franchise.

"The Girl in the Spider's Web" (2018, November 9th release) trailer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKMSP9OKspQ

This is looking really good! Fede Alvarez (who has directed cool stuff like 2013's "Evil Dead" and 2016's "Don't Breathe") will take over the director spot for David Fincher who directed the 2011 American remake of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", but "Spider's Web" skips forward to the fourth novel in the Millennium series — a story written by David Lagercrantz instead of Stieg Larsson. I think that they're skipping the second and third books for now so that they can later bring back Fincher, Rooney Mara, and Daniel Craig for "The Girl Who Played with Fire" (though who knows; if this one does well enough then Sony may just abandon a Fincher trilogy and just do a two-off with Lagercrantz). This way they [can save production money and] don't have to worry so much about viewers being upset with actor continuity, though the big positive is that it's Claire Foy who will play Lisbeth Salander. I thought Foy was great in 2008's "Little Dorrit", and it's been cool to see her slowly rising up with box office and TV misses like "Season of the Witch" and "Crossbones" ("Season" was a stolen script mess that had a delayed release for re-writes, and "Crossbones" was good but lost too much money in production for the network to keep it). "The Crown" seems to have finally put her on the map, and "Unsane" was too good (see it, you heathens!) :D ..

So yeah! A movie worth looking forward to this year :D

..Venom could also be good :p
..and I still haven't seen "Hereditary", but that makes it to DVD/streaming on August 21st

Hereditary was really good, btw...

..
I didn't do a 2019 preview because there wasn't much notable this year (mostly Marvel garbage), but I just re-watched "The Crazies" (2010) and saw that Radha Mitchell has a new movie coming out:
"Celeste" (2019)

The story seems simple: a widow begins having a relationship with her former husband's son (a son from another marriage) — a taboo that gets them in trouble socially. This combines with a plot of her doing an overdue farewell singing performance.

It looks good mostly because they seem to have shot it well and directed the actors well. It's select Australian theaters at the moment, so "to be seen" for U.S. release dates...
